Don’t Wait: Meet Our Limited-Run Fall Shoes
Share
Have you ever fallen in love with a shoe, decided to think about it and returned a few weeks later to discover that your size was gone? The world of retail fashion turns quickly, and we frequently remind our customers that in order to pick from the widest selection they should buy their sandals when it's cold and their boots when it's hot. And while that doesn't mean that you can't find a great pair of sandals in September or boots in January, it does mean that waiting eliminates many of the season's most unique choices.
“Limited-Run” vs. "Open Stock" Shoes
Many of our core shoe brands keep popular styles available throughout the season. This is called Open Stock. A manufacturer not only makes the pairs that are pre-ordered, but also stocks enough so that retailers can "fill-in" missing sizes or place special orders throughout the season. Often, these are very popular styles that are repeated several seasons in a row from popular brands like ARA, Rieker, Remonte, and NAOT.

With an explosion of color and texture, L'Artiste caters to those who aren't afraid of looking bold and is an exception to the rule that open stock tends to be basic. Most of their styles are available as open stock or as special orders.
For a brand to decide that a shoe is open stock, they have to invest a lot of resources. That means open stock choices are often classic silhouettes in basic colors. When we are selecting shoes for Plum Bottom, we like to create a collection of both open stock and limited run styles to provide our customers with a mix of basics and exclusive looks you'll find only at Plum Bottom.
Limited-run styles work differently. They are typically produced only when a retailer (like Plum Bottom) places a pre-season order with the vendor. We choose these limited-edition shoes months in advance, often selecting just one or two pairs in each size. Once the shoe is sold, additional pairs are no longer available.
These limited run shoes are often the shoes with the details that make you stop and look twice: an unexpected print, a dramatic buckle, a beautiful combination of colors or a fresh interpretation of a classic silhouette. These styles are for those who prefer to curate a distinctive look, rather than chasing the latest "fast fashion" trend.
Four Fall Shoes to Buy Today
We've built a capsule collection that includes a boot, a heel, a flat and a loafer of limited-run styles that you won't want to miss. These fresh and unique styles work with your casual looks, jeans, professional outfits and nights out.
The Ankle Boot

The Gaimo Magnolia ankle boot gives a classic western-inspired boot a playful update in leopard suede. It has plenty of personality, but the neutral coloring makes it surprisingly easy to wear. Pair it with denim, black pants or a simple dress and let the boots do the talking.
The Heel

For something polished but far from predictable, meet the Fluchos Rodin high heel. Its green-and-black herringbone pattern, thin maryjane strap, patent leather cap toe and 2.3 inch heel create a sophisticated look that moves easily from the office to dinner. It’s a statement shoe, but an exceptionally versatile one.
The Flat

The Gioseppo pointed toe flat proves that an everyday shoe doesn’t have to be ordinary. Handmade in Spain, it combines premium leather, a refined gold buckle and heel detail, and a cushioned insole. Perfectly proportioned, there is plenty of room despite the sleek toe shape.
The Loafer

The Softwaves Dionne loafer balances rich navy suede with a tortoise buckle and practical lug sole. Underneath its polished appearance are comfort-minded features, including arch support, a removable footbed and a bunion-friendly design. It’s an easy way to make everyday fall outfits feel more finished.
Why is Plum Bottom Special?
Part of what makes shopping at an independent boutique different is that our collection is carefully selected, not pulled from an endless catalog of identical basics. We look for shoes that combine quality, comfort and distinctive design, including styles you may not encounter everywhere else.
Of course, limited availability also means making a decision a little sooner. We never want you to purchase a shoe that isn’t right for you. But when a limited-run style fits beautifully and makes you smile, waiting may mean missing your size.
Stop by Plum Bottom in Harrisburg or Camp Hill to see our newest fall arrivals, or shop online at PlumBottom.net. If you have a question about fit, availability or which location carries a particular style, contact us. We’re always happy to help you find the right pair...while it’s still here.
